Description

Wanze is an experimental self-powered photovoltaic tamper detection module that charges its capacitors using light, increasing the voltage on its test pads.

You can read this voltage using a multimeter or ADC and determine if the module has been recently exposed to light.

As a usage example, Wanze could be taped to the inside of a drawer, and later checked to determine if the drawer had been opened.

The capacitors charge quickly depending on the amount of light, and slowly discharge over time, decreasing the voltage. The voltage can also be reset by shorting the test pads.

Note: These are very early prototypes for experimental purposes and they may not be useful for any actual application; the silkscreen on the rear is reversed.
